Georgia Southern University police arrested 40-year-old Christopher Lee Shuman, an employee of GSU, on Nov. 29 after he had been suspected of stealing several students’ mail from the campus post office. “He was sent to the county jail and is still under some sort of investigation,” said Captain Terry Briley of GSU’s Public Safety.
Shuman was charged with 41 counts of theft by taking, a misdemeanor, according to the police report.
This investigation was opened on Nov. 22 and lasted through Shuman’s arrest on Nov. 29, according to the police report.
Campus postal service workers could not comment because the incident is still under an open investigation.
